What is Salesforce to Salesforce ?
Salesforce to Salesforce is a feature that allows you to share data with another salesforce.com Organization. It is multitenant platform where every customer will have their own environment in a shared platform. It is used to share records between two partner or organizations in salesforce. So if a business partner is also using salesforce.com you can create connections that allow you to publish and subscribe to each other’s objects and fields for virtually any type of record (e.g., lead, accounts, opportunities, custom objects) in one another’s Organization.
Salesforce to Salesforce.com Overview.
In this Salesforce tutorial we are going to learn about How to enable Salesforce to Salesforce, Setting up a Connection, Publishing Objects, Subscribing to publishing Objects and how to share records manually.
How to enable Salesforce to Salesforce ?
In Salesforce.com, Salesforce 2 salesforce feature provides connection between to partners. Before using S2S feature in Salesforce we have to enable it. Check the following steps how to enable Salesforce to Salesforce in SFDC.
- Salesforce to Salesforce is enabled by administrator. To enable go to Setup=>App Setup=>Customize=>Salesforce to Salesforce=>Settings.
Click on Edit button and select enable, then save the settings.
Setting up Connection between Salesforce to Salesforce.
In Salesforce.com, first we have to enable S2S settings as shown above. After enabling S2S we have to establish a relationship between two organizations. This can be done by connection. Let us take two organisation example: – Adarsh and Prasanth. Here we will setup a connection between “Adarsh” and “Prasanth”. Follow the steps given below to setup a connection.
- Go to Connection Tab.
- Now click on New Button.
- In this page we have enter details to which partner we want to connect. Enter Contact and Account from lookup fields. Enter Connection Owner name as shown below. Now click on save button.
Now an adarsh have to accept the invitation send by Prasanth. After accepting the connection invitation we can send records to the partner.
Publishing Objects in Salesforce to Salesforce.
After setting Connection, we have to publish and subscribe to the objects. Check the following steps how to publish objects in S2sS
- Go to Connection=>select adarsh connection =>Publish objects.
Select the objects that you want to publish and select Save button.
