What is Salesforce Lightning Experience?

Salesforce Lightning Experience is a new user interface that delivers a faster platform, dynamic capabilities, and enhanced experience better than Salesforce Classic or Aloha (Salesforce Classic, also known as Aloha). 

Salesforce Lightning Experience provides Salesforce users with much better user experience than Aloha. It’s more flexible and easy to customize the UI and the entire UI has been re-imagined to make sales and support representatives more efficient and productive.

Lightning includes the Lightning Component Framework and some exciting tools for developers.  The Lightning Component framework uses HTML, CSS, and JavaScript on the front-end and connects to Salesforce objects and business logic on the server using Apex Programming Language. Lightning Components are the building blocks that power the Lightning Experience application. A Lightning Application page consists of one or more Lightning Components.
